You don't know what you've got till it's gone...

No, I'm not channelling Joni Mitchell, but I do have an important point to make... I *really* don't want anyone to panic, it's just paper after all, but I do want to make everyone aware of the facts so that they can avoid disappointment, hence this reminder post...

The Colour Renovation Project has exceeded all forecasts of demand in the US. Some colours (despite analysis by SU! of sales trends, previous retirement purchasing behaviour, and building in a comfortable 'safety margin') have already SOLD OUT in 8.5x11" smooth cardstock, having exceeded demand by as much as 4x predictions. Where possible, more is being manufactured to meet backorders, but there is a limit to what can be done without affecting production of the exciting NEW colours.

The sold-out colours in the US do not affect us here in Australia/NZ directly, as our cardstock is a different size, A4. However, the same result could ultimately be expected here as we get closer to the release of the new Catalogue, and extra production is limited by the same factors as the US market.

So - please, don't delay, take a good look at your colours. Decide which you are willing to leave behind as you move to the beautiful new palette, and also which colours you feel you can't do without for a while yet. Own the inkpad? Check you have a reinker on hand. Use the colour a lot in your cards or scrapping? Check you have a pack or two in reserve. Matching ribbon? Marker? Like to watercolour flowers and nature images? Consider the Earth Elements Watercolor Wonder crayon kit for all the colours you need in one set. Have some patterned paper featuring a retiring colour? Check your stash for matching cardstock, etc

A timely investment now will save you (and me!) much stress later on when stocks become unavailable. There's nothing worse than trying to track down a reinker for a retired colour, "hen's teeth" doesn't even come close! And I can see the Ebay prices skyrocketing along with demand...

We are lucky that we have a couple of extra months to plan ahead and order, but I do recommend that you organise and order for your future needs sooner rather than later.

As an added incentive, place an order of $50 or more (excl p/h) before MAY 31st to receive a free Stampin' Write marker, valued at $5.75 + p/h in a retiring colour (random choice, but I will match with your order where possible) Your order must contain at least one retiring colour product. Limit of one marker per customer, per order. Sorry, full packs/rolls only, no split packs - why not consider sharing with your stampin' friends?
Off you go, consider it your homework for the week from your Creative Coach!

I'm off to prepare for my Friday Evening Class on PUNCHES, finish some 6x6 Scrapping pages, and work on my projects for the upcoming Inklings Team Blog Hop - starting Thursday night! - theme is MASCULINE projects, so you're bound to find heaps of inspiration. Stay tuned for details, and have a lovely, crisp Autumn day! Thanks very much to Caroline LeBel, a Canadian SU! Demo for her lovely Colour Renovation image (spelled the non US way!)
